Week 4:

📖 Chapter 6 – Three Brains: Thinking to Doing to Being
📖 Chapter 7 – The Gap

Join us this March as Nathan Nordby continues guiding discussions on Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Dr. Joe Dispenza—an insightful journey into how our thoughts shape reality and how we can rewire our minds for transformation.

About the Book:

Dr. Joe Dispenza’s book dives into the realms of neuroscience, quantum physics, and neuroplasticity to explain how individuals can change their lives by altering their thought patterns and behaviors. Dispenza argues that our habitual thoughts and emotions shape our reality, and by changing these, we can transform our lives.

Key Concepts:

  1. Understanding the Brain and Body Connection:
    • Dispenza explains how our thoughts and emotions are not only psychological but also have a physical basis in our brains and bodies. He discusses how these can become automatic through repetition, forming our personality and, by extension, our personal reality.
  2. Neuroplasticity and Change:
    • The book emphasizes the brain’s ability to change its structure in response to experience or mental activity (neuroplasticity). Dispenza teaches methods to rewire the brain by consciously directing thought and energy.
  3. Meditation and Mindfulness:
    • A significant part of the book is devoted to meditation practices aimed at breaking free from old patterns. Techniques include visualization, meditation, and mindfulness to shift from a state of being to one of creating.
  4. Quantum Physics and Consciousness:
    • Dispenza introduces concepts from quantum physics to suggest that our thoughts can influence our reality at a fundamental level. He posits that by altering our consciousness, we can influence our physical world.
  5. Breaking the Habit:
    • The core of the book is about “unmemorizing” old neural pathways. Dispenza provides steps to become aware of and then change the subconscious habits that keep us in a repetitive loop of thought and action.
  6. Creating a New Self:
    • The final part of the book encourages readers to actively create a new self by visualizing and feeling the emotions associated with the desired future state as if it’s already happening, thereby aligning one’s energy with new possibilities.
