We provide this community gathering place as a space in which you can feel safe and connect over the topics and ideas that make your eyes shine.
The rules are simple:
1). Show up
2). Be honest
3). Listen and share from the heart

Sorry to miss everyone that can’t make it this evening, but we’ll look forward to seeing you next week!🙌

TGIT! What a book, huh? I can’t wait to catch up with everyone later and learn what you’re discovering. Here’s the link to join:
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87246483725?pwd=61NtKnokrxHWoIxNHbG8b2Xeyy4Cl2.1Here are some discussion points I thought I’d add:
-
The Power of Thoughts and Emotions: Discuss how our thoughts and feelings create our reality and whether members have experienced this in their lives.
-
Breaking the Cycle: Explore the concept of being stuck in a loop of repetitive thoughts and experiences, and share strategies to break free.
-
Memories and Brain Shaping: Consider how memories influence daily behaviors and identify specific memories that shape current self-identity.
-
Mental Rehearsal: Share experiences or ideas for practicing mental rehearsal, such as visualizing success in a challenging situation.
-
Mind-Body Connection: Reflect on how thoughts affect the body’s biochemistry and discuss examples where mental state influenced physical health.
-
Epigenetics: Discuss the role of epigenetics in personal transformation and whether knowing emotions can affect genes motivates better emotional management.
Here are some additional questions that we may want to explore:
-
Have you ever experienced a situation where changing your thoughts or feelings led to a change in your circumstances?
-
How do memories influence your daily thoughts and behaviors? Can you identify specific memories that shape your current self?
-
What are some ways you can practice mental rehearsal in your own life? Have you tried it before, and if so, what was your experience?
-
How does the idea that thoughts affect our body’s biochemistry resonate with you? Can you think of any examples from your own life where your thoughts influenced your physical state?
-
What role do you think epigenetics plays in personal transformation? Does knowing that our emotions can affect gene expression motivate you to manage your emotional states better?
-
What are some practical steps you can take to overcome your environment and body’s habitual responses?

I have come to a place where I must admit that I’m simply not going to be able to do this book with you. 😞 I just have too much going on right now (mostly good things!) and the evenings are too much for me. I love you and miss you and hope to see you all soon! 💖

Hey Everyone,
I’m going to have to miss bookclub today. I’m having some issues that have landed me in the hospital. I’ve been here for two days. Hopefully they can figure out what is wrong so I can get out of here. I really hope to see y’all next week. Have fun! 😀
-
Oh no! Get better soon Sadie! We will miss you and will be praying for a speedy diagnosis and recovery. Practice your meditation while you’re hospital bound! 😊

Oh you guys… It was so good to see you all on Saturday. Even if I had to do it from my hospital bed. I want to thank you all for your good thoughts, prayers, and well wishes!! I’ve been in the hospital/rehab center for a week and a half now. And let me tell you, as most of you probably know, it’s not a cakewalk!! And knowing that I have a group such as you, and all of H+C, is truly helping me to keep my sanity! This whole group means the world to me! And I love you all! ❤️
-
Ahh Sadie. It was so good to see you! We’re grateful to know that what you’re dealing with sounds like a very treatable condition, so we’re thankful. Thanks for checking in and for your faithfulness to our group. It’s a particularly special time that we get to spend together, and I love seeing everyone’s face each week.
Thanks for checking in and we’ll continue to pray for your speedy recovery!🙏
-
Thank you, Nate! And you’re welcome. I’m glad it’s treatable too. Bookclub and all of the H+C Community, definitely help lift my spirits. ❤️

-
Thank you so much, Susan. It’s been baby steps all over again, but I’m getting there little by little! ❤️

Thanks to Janet for sharing this Induction Meditation inspired by Dr. Joe Dispenza! As I listened to it, I was grateful for the time I gave myself.
-
Here is the Celtic Tree Calendar that Janet referenced in our Book Club on Saturday. I converted it to be a smaller file size, so hopefully this works for everyone! You may need to download it to your device to view it.
Thanks for sharing, Janet.
-
Thank God It’s Saturday! I’m looking forward to exploring and sharing with you. Happy Spring! 🌻

Sorry to miss yesterday’s book club session. Hubby needed help with yard project that took longer than expected. Sending hugs to everyone!

Just wanted to post this here and share. It’s also a reminder to me of what I said I would be accountable for. 😀
my brain and heart divorced
a decade ago
over who was
to blame about
how big of a mess
I have become
eventually,
they couldn’t be
in the same room
with each other
now my head and heart
share custody of me
I stay with my brain
during the week
and my heart
gets me on weekends
they never speak to one another
– instead, they give me
the same note to pass
to each other every week
and their notes they
send to one another always
says the same thing:
“This is all your fault”
on Sundays
my heart complains
about how my
head has let me down
in the past
and on Wednesday
my head lists all
of the times my
heart has screwed
things up for me
in the future
they blame each
other for the
state of my life
there’s been a lot
of yelling – and crying
so,
lately, I’ve been
spending a lot of
time with my gut
who serves as my
unofficial therapist
most nights, I sneak out of the
window in my ribcage
and slide down my spine
and collapse on my
gut’s plush leather chair
that’s always open for me
~ and I just sit sit sit sit
until the sun comes up
last evening,
my gut asked me
if I was having a hard
time being caught
between my heart
and my head
I nodded
I said I didn’t know
if I could live with
either of them anymore
“my heart is always sad about
something that happened yesterday
while my head is always worried
about something that may happen tomorrow,”
I lamented
my gut squeezed my hand
“I just can’t live with
my mistakes of the past
or my anxiety about the future,”
I sighed
my gut smiled and said:
“in that case,
you should
go stay with your
lungs for a while,”
I was confused
– the look on my face gave it away
“if you are exhausted about
your heart’s obsession with
the fixed past and your mind’s focus
on the uncertain future
your lungs are the perfect place for you
there is no yesterday in your lungs
there is no tomorrow there either
there is only now
there is only inhale
there is only exhale
there is only this moment
there is only breath
and in that breath
you can rest while your
heart and head work
their relationship out.”
this morning,
while my brain
was busy reading
tea leaves
and while my
heart was staring
at old photographs
I packed a little
bag and walked
to the door of
my lungs
before I could even knock
she opened the door
with a smile and as
a gust of air embraced me
she said
“what took you so long?”

Thank you so much, Sadie! What a wonderful reminder. I shall go check in with my lungs . . . 🙂
