I’m so glad that you’re leading the group in this particular book that I love — but you read it first and made sure that I did.
-
Hell yes is right! I was going to ask the same question. Do I just jump into the discussion and join?
-
-
-
Excellent! Thanks for leading us on this path of discovery through “Hero On A Mission”, Nate. BTW…I love the clever cat video.
-
I’m looking forward to starting this adventure with everyone next week. Thank you Jacob for getting it set up and organizing. Thank you Nate for taking the reins and leading us all on an adventure of self-discovery, exploration, and wonderment. 😀
-
I’m listening to the book on Audible…do I need to buy the book to join?
-
Any version is perfect! If you decide that you’ll need the physical version to assimilate it, then go for it, but the audible should be great! That’s how I read it.

Major brain fart over here. 🤦🏼♀️😂 Our first meeting/get together is Thursday, April 6th, and not today, March 23rd, correct?
-
The confirmation in the email says today, (Thu) March 23rd, and the event on this page says, (Thu) April 6th.
-
-
I was wondering the same thing as Sadie. Are we starting our discussion group today at 4:00 pm PT or not until the 6th of April? Thanks!
-
Hey club!
The original event was published early with the incorrect dates listed. The event has since been updated and we apologize for the confusion. We will have our first meeting next Thursday on April 6, at 6:00 pm.
If you registered early, here is the link:
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82196857210It’s going to be a fun time and we can’t wait to explore this book together!
-
No apology needed over here. Thank you for the clarification. I’m looking forward to getting together! 😀
-
-
Looking forward to it! Should we have read any part of the book for this first meeting?
-
Feel free to read as much as you want, but no reading will be required for this first session! We will be introducing the book and I have study questions that I’ll be providing to all the group members each time we meet. We will also be figuring out the meeting frequency that makes the most sense and generally getting acquainted. Can’t wait to see you on Thursday!
-
Hi, I just wondered if the book club meeting this afternoon will be recorded? I’ve been looking forward to this for weeks and I’m really bummed but may have to miss some of it. Will it intrude too much if I have to come a little late? Or should I just wait until the next one or catch the recording?
-
Hi Leslie,
Yes. We will record this session and make sure it’s available to everyone when it’s done. Sorry to hear you won’t make it, but there will be more of them!
-
Thank you, Nathan. I will try my best to make it, but will certainly catch the next one if I can’t get back in time.

Hey Heroes!
I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone later today. Make sure you have RSVP’d to the event to get the Zoom link, but I’ll add it here before the session starts, just in case.
We’ll be handing out the study guide in this first session and we will be setting up the next club meeting dates.
Please use this forum to ask questions, contribute, etc. If we need to create new discussions around specific topics, just let me know and I’ll show you how to do it.
I’m really looking forward to this journey with all of you, and I hope the message of this book and our time together is transformative!
-
The Hero On A Mission Book Club will be starting shortly.
Here is your Zoom link to join: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82196857210

It was so great meeting the book club last night, and I’m so grateful and excited to go through this book with all of you! I’m attaching the Study Guide and the Worksheets that we talked about, but for the next couple of meetings you’ll only need the Study Guide. You can download it here.
As we discussed, we’ll be meeting every two weeks, starting the first week in May, so be on the lookout for the new event but I’ll be posting the information here as well.
Thanks to everyone who was able to make it, and I look forward to seeing everyone again in a few weeks!
-
Wow, that’s some guide, Nate! I saw mention of Viktor Frankl’s logotherapy. I skipped that part of his book. Do you recommend I read it? Would it give me better insight into Hero?
-
Hey Moy,
The Author of Hero on A Mission goes into enough detail, in my opinion, that reading Viktor Frankl isn’t necessary. However, it would be irresponsible of me to suggest that you shouldn’t! 🙂
Here’s a brief Logotherapy summary that you might enjoy:

I had posted this replay a couple of days ago, but then it was deleted. Let’s try it again!

Whoa… this book *is* potent!! I’m learning things about myself I didn’t know existed! (To be honest, some of which I’m ashamed to admit)!… I’m a little confused as to what he means when he refers to the agency. (I know he probably explained it at the beginning, but for some reason I can’t seem to find it now). Could someone please explain what it’s referring to? (And if we plan on discussing it at our next meeting, it can wait until then. 😊)
-
Here’s some information on agency that you might find helpful:
Personal agency refers to “the sense that I am the one who is causing or generating an action”. A person with a sense of personal agency perceives himself/herself as the subject influencing his/her own actions and life circumstances. In the book, the author refers to this as “the internal locus of control.”
-
Ah… that makes more sense now. Thank you for the clarification.
Sorry I missed y’all last night. I’m looking forward to watching the replay and meeting up again in a couple weeks. Such a mind-blowing book. 😊
-
We missed you too Sadie! It was a great discussion and we look forward to seeing you at the next session. 😀

Hey Heroes!
I’m back from my European travels, and I’m super excited to be meeting with all of you this evening. I know we had a confluence of bad things happen to our site right as I left, and I’m sorry I haven’t been active on this forum, but I’m really looking forward to our time together! ❤
-
I’m sorry I missed the meeting on May 4 and am looking forward to the replay. When will we meet again and what chapters will we be covering?
-
Hey Lisa!
We missed you too, but we’ll look forward to seeing you at the next one.
The Event page has been updated with the information, but we’ll be meeting on May 18, 6pm (Central Time) and we will be covering chapters 6 – 10.
We had such a great time of discussion!

Looks like I will have to miss the next meeting, too. My mother broke her hip on Mother’s Day. All is under control and she is doing okay post-surgery, but I will be settling her back in where she lives on meeting day. Have a great discussion, everyone, and maybe I’ll catch up with y’all at the next one.
-
Oh no! We will be praying for your mother and we’ll miss you in the conversation, but we will look forward to seeing you at the final session.🙏

Hi Nate and all you soon-to-be heroes! I have a quick question. I’m not sure I’m posting this in the right spot, but are we supposed to write our Eulogies prior to the book club meeting this Thursday? Thanks!
-
Hi Leslie! I moved this discussion to the Hero On a Mission Forum so you can find it here.
You are free to have written your eulogy since that exercise is covered in the chapters for discussion this evening, but only if you want to.
This book lays out why a good eulogy helps you become the author of your life, but don’t feel compelled to do anything you’re not comfortable or ready for!
-
-
I just wanted to remind everyone about the Hero On A Mission Worksheets that were posted earlier in this discussion. This download will give you the spaces for working on your eulogy, as well as your visions, goals, and daily planning! Not necessary to use, but I have found them helpful as I have developed a daily practice.
-
It was such a pleasure meeting with all of you last night. I learn so much from everyone and I’m so grateful for the time we get to spend together!
Please don’t hesitate to let me know if there are things you wish we were doing, things I say that don’t land well, or just things I can be doing to make this time more valuable for each of you. I welcome the feedback, and you can message me privately!
❤

I need help trying to join the Zoom meetings for Hero On A Mission. I was able to join the first session but haven’t been able to join any others. What am I doing wrong? I have had no link to the Zoom meetings and can’t join. Thank you for helping.
-
Hi Lisa,
So sorry you’ve missed the book club meetings! I’m not sure if this will help (you might want to direct your question to Nate to be sure) but if you are logged in you should be able to click on the menu (the lines in the upper left corner) and then events. The Hero on a mission book club meeting will come up and if you click on it I think there is a link there. But the next meeting on June 1st isn’t up yet since it’s still May. I’m not sure if this helps, I hope it did! Maybe you will get some other responses too. Hope to see you at the next one!

-
Thanks for the great discussion! Looking forward to next time.
-
Hi Nathan, I’ve been having no luck trying to join the Zoom meetings for Hero on A Mission the last 2 times. Could you give me a refresher please on how to sign up and join the Zoom. Also, when is the next Zoom meeting. Thanks a lot.
Lisa
