I’m so glad that you started this conversation, @susanw !
It would mean a lot to hear from everyone what makes writing hard for you …
Internal things (fears, anxiety, just-can’t-get-started, etc.)
External things (I’m a caregiver and have so little space and time, my work schedule is so demanding, my dog ate my computer, etc.)
Let’s discuss and share/compare with each other. I bet you’ll find out that you’re not alone!

Depth psychology 😍
And yeah … what you just said reinforces my take on real transformation (which is ONLY the process of becoming who we really are, in my view):
- Self-discovery
- Self-acceptance
- Which lead to Transformation
And not in a linear way, of course. Seems to be a spiraling virtuous cycle doesn’t it?

Oh my… Care of the Soul is just gorgeous, isn’t it?
And my oldest son is on the spectrum. I don’t know everything, but I’ve sure learned a lot over the past decade. I think a lot of people are learning that they’re on the spectrum right now and it’s liberating (and such a relief) for so many.

I’ve found Scattered Minds to be a gentle mirror. Dr Maté is so vulnerable about his own experiences and that brings a lot of heart to the research he shares. He presents ADD not as a dysfunction so much as a condition that includes some superpowers — and some tendencies that can be accommodated or reduced when needed.
The book Divergent Minds is also incredible.
In fact, reading that one was the first time I began to realize that I have ADD. I don’t display all of the symptoms but as I read this book, I began to see myself in a mirror.
It was a lot like my experience of reading The Body Keeps the Score several years ago. I never thought of myself as having a lot of trauma in my formative years. I was reading the book in support of a dear who was struggling with her trauma responses. Ooof. As I read it, I began to watch fog evaporate from the mirror. “Oh … I’ve been affected, too.”
Each of these books has invited me into more self-discovery and self-acceptance. And I find that as these increase, I am able to grow more and more into who I really am, you know?

Hey Kathleen 🙂
I’m glad you’re here. I know our tech team would like to hear what would make the experience more intuitive for you. Can you quantify, describe, be specific? There are plenty of little areas to tweak so that this runs like the top in Inception. 😄
Also, as I mentioned to Jenn, this is the Forum for more permanent, ongoing topical discussions. Click Feed to introduce yourself, share things, and enjoy more general chatting.
Thanks for being here.
